December Set Menu 2023

December 2023 at the Pant-y-Gwydr 

Please note that an à la carte menu will also be available in December offering our customary combination of French and original recipes 

                                                       Three-course set menu price:

                                                   £45.00 per person until 23 December

                                                        (we are fully booked on Christmas Day)

 

 

Starters

Pistou d’hiver (vegan)  A traditional Provençal winter vegetable soup with carrots, leeks, tomato, turnips, white beans, basil, rosemary, garlic   Allergens: celery (wheat-free and milk-free)

 

Tatin de confit de canard  Melt in the mouth puff pastry, tender slow-cooked duck, accompanied by an onion compote    Allergens: celery, wheat, milk

 

Roulade de saumon   Roulade of poached salmon and spinach, beurre blanc

Allergens: fish, milk, sulphites (white wine)  

Main courses 

 

Dinde de Nöel  - Traditional Roast Turkey with all the trimmings.
Succulent roast turkey served with roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, brussels sprouts, our own chestnut stuffing (wheat-free) and a pig-in-blanket, gravy - Pant-y-Gwydr Cranbe
rry and bread sauce are served on the side Allergens: celery, milk. this dish is wheat-free if served without a pig in blanket and bread sauce

Filet de bar, sauce Dieppoise  Grilled fillet of sea bass with samphire, steamed potatoes and a sauce from the Normandy coast -  crevettes, cockles and mussels and white wine      Allergens: fish, crustacean, shellfish, celery, milk, sulphites this dish is wheat-free

 

Tempeh sauté   Vegan Fricassée of Tempeh with leeks, butter beans and green and red peppers

Allergens: soya, celery (trace)

 

Desserts

 

Bûche glacée de Nöel     Christmas log with meringue, Chantilly cream and raspberry, lemon and passion fruit sorbet, raspberry coulis          Allergens: eggs, milk

 

Aveline  hazelnut dessert with hazelnut confection, hazelnut ice cream, milk chocolate, praline crème anglaise  Allergens: nuts, milk, eggs, trace of soya 

 

Vegan dark chocolate fondant with Pant-y-Gwydr “milk” chocolate vegan ice cream Allergens: wheat, soya

 

A selection of five French unpasteurised cheeses – served with Pant-y-Gwydr apple jelly and artisan biscuits Allergens: wheat, barley, rye, milk

ORDERS    We request orders for Christmas Day by email by 4 December (or before) with payment in full at the time the order is placed.

We would be grateful to receive orders and payment for December (outside Christmas Day) 21 days in advance. 

PRICE Our December set menu is priced at £45 and our Christmas Day menu 2022 is priced at £80 per person.  

We will do our very best to provide the dishes as described and inform you if we are obliged to change any of the ingredients due to supply issues.
