December Set Menu 2022

December 2022 at the Pant-y-Gwydr 

Please note that an à la carte menu will also be available in December offering our customary combination of French and original recipes 

                                                       Three-course set menu price:

                                                   £38.00 per person until 23 December

                                                        (£80 per person on Christmas Day)

 

 

Starters

Soupe de Topinambour aux truffes (vegan)

Cream of Jerusalem artichoke soup, leeks, soya cream and truffles (vegan)

Allergens: soya, celery this dish is wheat-free

 

Ballotine de canard à l’orange et au Grand Marnier

Barbary duck, rolled, roasted with orange and Grand Marnier and served chilled with wild rocket leaves     

Allergens: celery, milk, sulphites this dish is wheat-free

 

Gambas avec son Kromeski de crevettes

Giant prawns, served with a pink prawn “Kromeski” croquette with a hint of garlic, flambéed with Cognac

Allergens: crustacean, celery, wheat, milk (butter), sulphites

Main courses 

 

Dinde de Nöel  - Traditional Roast Turkey with all the trimmings.
Succulent roast turkey served with roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, brussels sprouts, our own chestnut stuffing (wheat-free) and a pig-in-blanket, gravy - Pant-y-Gwydr Cranberry and bread sauce are served on the side Allergens: celery, milk. this dish is wheat-free if served without a pig in blanket and bread sauce

 

Filet de bar, sauce Champagne, légumes vapeur

Grilled fillet of sea bass served with a Champagne sauce and steamed potato, carrot and courgette    Allergens: fish, celery, milk, sulphites  this dish is wheat-free

 

Strüdel au sarrasin et aux noisettes, chiffonade de choux rouge  vegan
Vegan buckwheat strudel (leeks, onions, cauliflower, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, soya cream, olive oil) with an accompaniment of gently simmered red cabbage and raisins   Allergens: soya, nuts  - this dish is wheat-free

 

Desserts

 

Bûche aux marrons  

Chestnut Christmas log - Pant-y-Gwydr “biscuit” made with organic flour, eggs, chestnut purée, Madagascar vanilla              Allergens: eggs, milk, wheat, soya, nuts

 

Le Citron

Three miniature lemon desserts - cream of lemon and meringue, "demi-citron" with mascarpone, lemon sorbet. Allergens: milk, eggs

 

Vegan la Vanille trio of vegan vanilla desserts with miniature crème brulée, mini-vanilla moelleux and vegan Pant-y-Gwydr vanilla ice cream   Allergens: soya, wheat

 

A selection of five French unpasteurised cheeses – served with Pant-y-Gwydr apple and pear jelly and biscuits Allergens: wheat, barley, rye, milk

ORDERS    We request orders for Christmas Day by email by 1st December (or before) with payment in full at the time the order is placed.

We would be grateful to receive orders and payment for December (outside Christmas Day) 21 days in advance. 

PRICE Our December set menu is priced at £38 and our Christmas Day menu 2022 is priced at £80 per person.  

We will do our very best to provide the dishes as described and inform you if we are obliged to change any of the ingredients due to supply issues.
