Coronavirus: As all of our customers who have visited us recently are aware, we have made arrangements to serve you as safely as possible since re-opening on 4 August 2020. Our waiting staff have worn masks since 4 August and additional cleaning routines have been introduced in the restaurant and kitchen using anti-viral cleaning products. Hand sanitiser and social distancing signs are provided for customers.

We are proud to support the NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect service. Please make sure to reserve your table before arriving at the restaurant and provide your contact details.

In addition, socially distanced supply chains are in place (including delivery to our external walk-in fridge instead of the kitchen itself) in order to minimise entry to and interaction with the kitchen. Hand sanitiser is provided externally for deliveries as well as in the restaurant and kitchen.

We have made significant adaptations in the restaurant itself, including removing about 25% of our seating capacity so that our tables are spaced between 2 and 3 metres apart. One-time use menus are provided for your table - customers may also order in advance if they prefer.

We request that customers wear masks when not seated at their tables.

Based in the heart of Swansea, the Pant-y-Gwydr serves French cuisine prepared using both traditional and original recipes. From our tenth anniversary in July 2020, we are also excited to announce a brand new Vegan menu with tasty, subtle and original recipes.

Both classic French and Vegan dishes may be ordered to eat at home or here at the Pant-y-Gwydr. We are serving our individual dishes for collection in smart, food-safe eco-containers that are suitable for gentle re-heating. 

While some of our new dishes have a "street food" element and can be eaten straight from the eco-box with a wooden fork on the beach (try our fragrant vegan couscous or our homemade Toulouse sausages with French-style mash!) we are also producing sophisticated vegan and classic French dishes that would grace any dinner party. Let us know if you are planning for a larger family gathering or event and we can design a special menu for collection. 

In addition to opening the restaurant for Sunday lunch, we're proposing a traditional "takeaway" menu for Christmas Day - for those who would like a little luxury on Christmas Day with the only hassle being collection from the restaurant! 


We've always set great store by the authenticity of our recipes and the origins of our produce, but we've now augmented our range from health food stores as well as sourcing the only tofu made in Britain from British-grown soya, organic tempeh, and by making our very own Seitan which has a wonderful texture. 


And introducing our Vegan desserts!  We're building on our reputation for original and attractively presented desserts, all of which are suitable for vegetarians - with new vegan choices, including our very own recipes for vegan tiramisu, vegan crème brûlée and vegan Tarte Tatin

Our French and Vegan Takeaway Menu is available for collection seven days a week from 10am to 8pm

The restaurant is open for Lunch and Dinner from Tuesday to Saturday and for Sunday lunch.

We request that guests do not bring birthday cakes to the restaurant - we would be delighted to add a lighted candle to one of our beautiful desserts

You are welcome to bring balloons and other birthday decorations but please avoid glitter table decorations.


We will be taking a four-day break from serving takeaways from Sunday 18 to Wednesday 21 April

Normal takeaway service will be available up to Saturday, 17 April and will resume on Thursday, 22 April 

Weekends tend to fill up a day or two in advance
